    Default Plisson HMW vs. EW?

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison between these two Plisson brushes? I'd love to have the benefit of your observations and your subjective opinions too.

    Thanks all. Jim

Mine are pretty similar in comparison except for the handle materials. I do like the softer feeling EW a little better than the HMW. Both have some backbone and the knots are not very dense on either. I like using both however and keep them in my current brush rotation.

Not in line with your question, but I do like the Best Badger better than most other Best's I have used in the past. It has more body IMHO.

    Have fun.

I cannot comment on both since I only own a HMW. I will say it is a great brush with a little backbone and it does have a smidge of scratchy feel to it at times but overall is a soft brush. I hope this helps some.

    hey,

i just got the hmw and i think its a bit scratchy. the tips of my thäter 4215/1 or da vinci uomo are softer. besides that it is a great brush. I've heard, that the tips of the ew are softer than the tips of hmw. the hmw has more backbone (what i've heard from it). look my first impressions here:

My 2 EWs are softer with no scritch. My 3 HMWs vary. I have 2 two bands that are scritchy with a lot of backbone and 1 three band that is extremely soft with no scritch and enough backbone to make it good but not at all stiff. The EW is more bang for the buck unless you want scritch. In that case look for a two band.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
