Breaking in a Simpson PL12
First time this brush has been dunked.
I thought it would be too big for regular use, but I very much enjoyed shaving with it. Nice surprise.
In full bloom, 5 minutes after first use:

Thanked: 1Thanks for the picture. I have this same brush on order. I was a little worried about its size. My only other experience with Simpsons has been their super dense Duke series and a Chubby 2.

Wow! That's a hefty looking shaving brush.
And I thought that a Simpsons Polo 8 was big."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

That is such a beautiful brush.
Thanks for the pics.
I have more brushes than I will ever need, but should I buy any more, that would be high on my list!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanks for the comments, guys. And litework... when you get your PL12, let me know what you think.
Yes, it's a monster of a brush. A real experience. While using it, it's hard to stop grinning at how outrageous it is. I can't see myself using it every day though, so I'm glad I have other choices.
As for its knot size, I'm not sure what the "official" specs are, and I don't have calipers. But eyeballing it against a tape measure, the knot size is about 28mm and the loft is about 62mm.
I also have its larger brother, a PL14 in Super. Crazy brush, whitest hairs I've ever seen. But I still haven't used it. (It's a new-old-stock Somerset brush. I just can't bring myself to be the first to dunk it. Not yet anyway.)

Thanked: 1Good eye. I think the official specs are 28 mm for the knot and 58mm for the loft. I love my Chubby 2, which is currently the largest brush I have, and cannot wait to use the big Polo. I think is going to be a good one!
