Omega boar brush
hey everyone,
i ordered the Omega Pro 48 the other day and just got it delivered today. first of all, the price was very good and i love the dense 28mm knot. my only other boar brush is a VDH, so i was already exactly it to be better than that. i figured i'd let the brush bloom and give it a trial run, so i whipped up some lather using VDH soap. i simply lathered the soap directly on my hand. WOW! this brush made lather better than my AoS pure badger.
i ordered this brush to use with soaps because i find my AoS brush to be a little too soft, even though it is pure badger hair. i am EXTREMELY impressed with this brush so far and i'm sure it will only get better in the future. once i get to use this brush a little more i might post a review for it.
if anyone that has this brush, or any other omega boar brush, wants to chime in and share some information, i'd love to hear it!

in addition, if anyone has the Pro 48 brush, i'm sure you've realized the knot is pretty big and doesn't fit into the average brush stand. can anyone recommend a stand that is big enough to hold the 28mm knot and tall enough to hold the loft of 69mm.

I have a Pro49 which is the same brush with a colored handle (mine is red). Kent makes a large stand in ivory which I purchased @ knifecenter.com. This is a perfect match both in width and height. I love the backbone with the soft tips of this brush. I just ordered 2 different models to try out due to how much this one has impressed me.

I have an Omega boar, and it is by far my favorite brush. Every couple months I break out the badger... all that does is remind me of why I like boar so much. Enjoy that brush, in a couple months you'll be a convert too.
