    Default Great Day in Yakima!

I got to spend yesterday with my friend Gerrit in Yakima doing some brush turning, honing and shaving and had a great time. He gave me my first lesson on the lathe and let me turn a handle with some expert help from him. Then he showed me his secret epoxy finish and let me do it all and the result is an absolutly beautiful new shaving brush. I got to shave with a bunch of his razors and check out alot of differnt edges and then we went to the hones for some more lessons. There is nothing like getting with an experianced shaver and honer for a one on one lesson and talk. He shaved with one of my edges and gave me nice compliments then he tweaked it up a bit and then let me hone on his stones with a watchfull eye and got some more great pointers to help with my honing. I came away with a new razor, scuttle, brush holder and my great new brush and more help and information than my brain could hold. Thanks Gerrit for your time and help it was a great day!Name: IMG_2070.jpg

Great looking brush, you have to happy with that. I like the ceramic brush holder in you pics, classy.

    Nice brush & stand.

Wow, what a set!! I really like the way the grain shows in that handle, and the scuttle...WOW. It all looks so great! Have many happy shaves with it. In the words of Crocodile Dundee... "Now THAT'S a scuttle!"
