Ever-ready was just a good basic brush. The ones I've seen seem to go back to the 50s and 60s. Most I've seen have boar hair. Yours looks like badger by coloration but they did dye boar to look like badger and the bristles look more like boar to me than badger but that's just a guess. Handling it should tell you.

I can't help you with the history but I can say those brushes restore nicely. A new knot, a buff on the outside and you'll have a handy brush that'll do the job for years to come. I don't recall if the knot sits on a shelf or not but it's hollow below. You can fill it with epoxy, add some pennies or washers to give it a little heft.

No shelf, it's hollow. I just restored a 150, it's a nice classic handle well worth restoring.
