Thread: Someone explain 'scuttles' to me please?

There's the old type and the new type. The old were designed to have hot water in the bottom and the soap on top and you made the lather or loaded the soap on top and the hole in the side gave you access to the water and kept the lather and brush warm. The new types are much larger and keep the brush and lather warm and give you room to build lather right in the scuttle.
