I think I just figured out what to do.
Since my brother is a cabinet maker among other things he got access to machines and some very, very nice woods. I think I will buy a silvertip and a finest and ask him to make handles for me for my birthday.

I just placed a order with the Golden Nib for a Silvertip - Grade A and a Finest. My brother will make the handles, one will be in curly birch to match the custom scales he is also making for me for my grandfathers old razor.

Thanked: 20That's awesome for the custom handles. TGN has a nice variety of wood blanks too.
I love the backbone of my boars so I like badgers that are stiffer yet still are soft. The finest with extra hair is soft yet stands up great. When it's dry it feels scritchy but when it's wet it super soft.
Please post some pics when you get your brushes made up.

Well I have received the knots and sent them to my brother.
But he has been working hard all summer on his house since they are expecting their first child around new year and that's just a little bit more important than my shaving equipment apparently.
But I am going there this weekend for a family reunion of sort and hopefully he will have them done by then together with my heirloom razor. If so I will post pictures as soon as I get home or when I have received them.
