My fan has arrived in Canada without a hitch. Thank you Max and the others who made this possible. It is a really beautiful brush and looks a lot like my Simpson #2 Best Chubby. So that is 4 various Simpson fans (honestly, a pure Duke is the favourite) and 1 unused Thater fan.

This could get out of hand if I don't watch it. - I know all about collecting, I already own hundreds of pairs of the finest Danish cufflinks (my favourite pair is an early "future line" pair by Karl Gustav Hansen).

Now I have to decide if I want to keep it or sell the Thater. Max tells me that only a third of the order were fans. A very rare brush indeed.

    Decisions, decisions.

Sorry, but got to ask: Why would you buy a brush, wait for it to arrive from Germany and then agonize over selling it before even using it???

I ordered it because I wanted to see if it was right for me. No big deal and certainly not agonizing. My issue is: do I want to start collecting shaving stuff? I already have 5 mugs/bowls/scuttles, 6 straight razors, plus stones and strops, 2 DEs, 8 types of shaving soaps/creams and now 5 brushes.
I realize that I have a small supply compared to many on this forum but I also know that I can ramp up very quickly. So I will leave it as it is and keep the Thater. BTW, I rinsed the Thater a few times and then lathered with Vitos cream and then with Cella earlier this evening. It lathered very well, as expected. I will do the same again tomorrow and use the brush with Cella and my large Becker scuttle on Sunday.

The only thing that upsets me is that I was not around to get in on this deal. I will keep an eye out for what's in store for next year.
