So I see here and there that you can buy knots by themselves. Is this so you can replace old ones or is it for people who make their own handles? And is there a specific way of getting old ones out? Any info about knot replacment would be helpful.

yea here is how i do it , i cut the old knot as close to the base as can. then sand it flush on belt sander, then drill out the base on drill press works good for me

Thanked: 13247You can cut the bristles flat then drill them out, sometimes you can put them in a Vise and crush the knot and it will just pop out nice and neat...
Most you need to get it out before you order a new knot so you can check the measurement unless you happen to own calipers
Here is the last one I did, sorry I did not do a step by step for the Wiki, but I wish someone would, if there isn't one by the next restore I do, I will take pics and do one...
