Thanked: 2027Dinkin around with some Lignum
Real lignum (not verawood) This stuff is fantastic,40% oil by wgt,it machines like butter.
No finish needed, take it down to 1200 with rottenstone and oil, some renwax and it shines with a natural glow, not like a plastic finish.
Big brush 28mm TGN Grade A set at 48mm loft.

Thanked: 5Could you have picked a harder wood? lol They use lignum vitae for moving part on heavy machinery. The more the machinery rubs the slicker it gets. Super job!

Thanked: 20Do you have any trouble glueing in the knot because of the oily nature of the Lignum Vitae?
What do you use?
Thanks for the post - Gags

That is a gorgeous brush. I have recently been infected with BAD and that isn't helping.

They use to make fly rods out of it as well due to its water resistance. It is an easy wood to work and has a very unique aroma. It will turn an interesting shade of green as the wood oxidizes over time.
