Brush projects for a kid???
Hey all,
My daughter is looking for a small wood lathe project to do in her shop class. I have plenty of small cut offs of various exotic hardwoods so I thought of shaving brushes.
We have found knots on the bay out of China. Advertised as Badger and boar usually in boxes of 3-6 knots. Are these decent serviceable knots? Like anything else coming out of China I don't expect them to be top of the line but if they are total junk that are going to fall apart I don't want to waste the kids time.
Any of you had any experience with these?

I don't know how well i'd trust the quality of knots being sold on the bay out of China. If I were you i'd go here: Fountain Pen parts - NIBS, - Wholesale Fountain Pen Ink - Golden Nib AZ.
Much higher quality badger knots and still inexpensive.

Just about all the badger hair comes out of China. I suspect, since it's a real specialty item there are very few outfits actually making them. I imagine the stuff is sold in grades.
