My Rotation of Brushes
The one on the left is a RATAN and is pure Badger and was distributed by Sears, Robuck & Co. It is small but very soft and whips up a good lather. I got this on eBay and it came with a razor.
The next one is an ART OF SHAVING brush. It is I believe best Badger hair but not the quality of the Ratan. It is fairly stiff but still a nice brush. It will whip up a nice lather. I also got this on eBay.
The next one is a VULFIX #377 from ClassicShaving. This has super Badger hair and is very very soft and BIG. It also is a very nice brush and will create a nice lather.
The last and biggest and my favorite is a PLISSON that I acquired from Chris Ellison. This brush is handmade in France and is a Plisson #20 Genuine Horn Handle with the most coveted bristles of them all – True Silvertip – High Mountain White Badger hair. The bristles are firm at the bottom and very soft near the tip. This baby will hold a lot of water and retain heat pretty well and whip up one heck of a lather. Because of its stiffness at the base of the bristles this big brush isn't that cumbersome on the face.if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.

Thanked: 2Very nice. I especially like the lighter colored horn handled brushes. I think they look much nicer than the plain black ones. Too bad I can only find black horn.

Matt, don't worry, when I order one from you it's going to be either ebony or black horn, so I don't mind

Bill,
Nice collection. Something for everyone in that group, or maybe I should say for every mood! I believe that the AOS is a pure badger, due to the darkness of the bristles. Regardless, nice set. And that Plisson...well, damn!

That Ratkin would be a perfect companion brush for
my Wilbert Autocrat, which was also a Sears and
Roebuck brand.
