You're absolutely right about this. I purchased the crosshatch webbing for mine. I'm glad I learned how to make a lather in a regular shaving cup before this came in because, with the scuttle, making lather is now way too easy.

Those pieces look really nice. I have been talking to a local potter who's work I admire about making a scuttle and set for me. What are the rough dimensions of the bowl (in the scuttle that is) and what would you consider to be the ideal overall dimensions for a scuttle? What improvements, if any, would you want to see in the designs that are now on the market?
