Good neighbors make good brush handles
My neighbor is a great woodworker. When I found out he had a lathe, the wheels in my brain started spinning. Quick purchase from the "Golden Nib" and we were off and running.
He happened to have some different kinds of wood available, so I was able to pick "marble wood." A look at some internet "how to's" and some valuable assistance from WillN, and we start turning.
During the turning, as the piece took shape, we both looked at it and said "That looks like an atomic bomb" at the same time...therefore,
I'd like to introduce "The Fat Man." It's a big handle (cause I got big hands).
It's getting a couple coats of Helmsman to protect it from the water. Trying to decide to put a boar knot or a badger knot in it once it cures.
I'm thinking next time, to find some dimensions for "Little Boy" and make a mock up of that.
Kabewm!
