Thanked: 0When you mentioned that you had made a MacGyver scuttle I thought that it was made out of duct tape. I guess that would be a Red Green scuttle. The reason that he still has a beard is probably due to the fact that it didn't work.

Thanked: 8An excellent adaption. I have an EPNS bowl with a ceramic liner. I soak both in hot water and leave enough in the gap to keep the lather nice and warm. I don't use anything else.

I think the "Mac" could easily sell on eBay for a BIN of $19.99. Nice job.

Thanked: 1Hi Mike:
Sorry to not post back more quickly. Thanks for the answers. I like the idea so much that I'm going out after church tomorrow to make one for myself. I don't know what I'm going to find for the inserts but something will present itself.

Actually, it did, but unlike some, I don't like to hijack a guy's thread. This was about the MacGyver bowl. The wire hanger brush holder thread was in my head, too, when I thought about interesting contributions as criteria for a giveaway.

Thanked: 0The infamous thread-jack... My apologies if thats how my reply came across!
I think it would be fun to have a little thread of all homemade creations. I've seen a few very creative travel brush cases, homemade stands, scuttles, and overall travel kits. It would be pretty cool to have them all in one location. What does everyone think?

No problem. In retrospect, my reply was a bit snippy. I certainly didn't mean it that way...just explaining why I didn't mention it in this thread. Actually, I liked the idea so well I ordered some 1/8" stainless steel rod to try it myself. Both ideas (the scuttle and the brush hanger) are great, and if I have any say in it, both you and Mike will be in Josh's drawing. Of course, he hasn't really set the rules yet. lol. I guess I don't need to post first thing in the morning (my kids say I'm grumpy first thing in the morning) Anyway, thanks for contributing, and as Lynn is wont to say, "Have fun."

Thanked: 0Hmmm, now if we can only figure out how to incorporate the homemade stand into the homemade scuttle for the zenith in handcrafted DIY mayhem
Idaho Mike, you better hop on the next flight to NYC and bring a bottle of Johnny Blue so we can get started on this million-dollar venture immediately... I'll bring the wire-hangars
