Thanked: 2Why's my hair falling out
Hey, guys my brush is a pure badger I've noticed recently every couple of days a hair or two is falling out. I don't have a stand so i hang it upside down by the handle between the sink nobs. It seems to dry out well and this just started happening I'm not doing anything differently, i dry and wash it extensively after use. Thanks for any advice.

Thanked: 194be careful how much you dry and wash it extensivly after use, you could possibly loosen the knot inside the handle and have hair start to shed

If the brush is new this is to be expected, every now and then with an older brush.

Thanked: 2Thanks, that makes me feel a little better it is pretty new just got it in December, a Christmas present from the misses I'd hate to screw it up. Already messed my razor up by not stropping correctly, no worries though a devoted member has offered to fix it right up for me. And I am impressed with the care you senior members have taken to answer not only mine but other new users as well the advice has been great. I am a proud member and will continue to be.

Well it seemed to start at age 30 for me a few hairs each time I combed my hair and then it got worse and then....oh you mean your shaving brush eh?
Like the guys said a couple hairs when the brush is new and every now and then a hair coming out is normal. If you start getting a bunch every time you use it that's not normal. If it's a concern contact the vendor and discuss it with them.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 118Agreed! new brushes will shed for the first couple of months.
I also have 2 NOS brushes that are about 50 years old. They were never used by anyone except me, and they shed TERRIBLE for about 3 months. I still get a couple of hars each week from them, but like all of us, when you start getting on in years you have to expect to lose a few now and then.Last edited by KindestCutOfAll; 02-14-2012 at 05:36 PM. May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!
