Thanked: 3No way. The Thater has a better softness, density and amount of hair. There also feels like a little more backbone to the Thater. The fan shape Thater does make it feel more flat on the face and more of a painting surface rather than a scrubbing point as the bulb shape of the #2 facilitates. The Thater is just on a higher level of softness on the face. I find it best as the ultimate finisher brush to apply full and luxurious final coats of lather for all the razor passes. I don't mind it's large size because it feels just soooo beautiful and soft that I want as much of it on my face as possible!
I have used both now and will do a side by side test soon. But hose are my inital thoughts.
