    Default 10 brush at target

I was just at target and they have the Van Der Hagen products there. It's two soaps, a badger brush, and a set with all of that plus a stand and mug. The brush is 10 dollars and when I checked it out it was actually okay for the price. It's reasonably soft and fluffy and I guess it's a nice medium size. For a first brush, or for a young shaver it seems like an okay buy. Certainly better than the cheap boar brushes one sees at the drugstore.

I don't know if its better than the cheap boar brushes...I can get an omega boar at my shoppers drug mart that I consider to blow the VDH out of the water when compared lol. But it would deffinatly be a great starter setup for sure

I have a special 4-step program for you, mjsorkin:

    1. find cheapest Tweezerman badger brush on amazon or ebay or...

    2. compare prices of Tweezermen to lowly VDH brush (which isn't as good).

    3. make correct decision

    4. live on never regretting making the wrong decision.

I've got one of those Tweezermans. Amazing brush for the price.

I started out with Van Der Hagen products and used them with great success. Your post inspires me to get a puck of VDH and some William's shaving soap. They both smelled great and old school.

I bought a VDH brush when I first started. It shed like a dog in a Mississippi summer.

I have the "Shea Moisture" brand brush that Target sells for 8 bucks. It's good enough for me. No shedding issues to speak of.

My Tweezerman is great for lathering, but I've got shedding issues with it. My tub of Proraso looks like a pet groomers floor.

Uh oh. I hope sleekandsmooth doesn't tell wrxguyusa about this. How long have you been using the Tweezerman, BossManBill?

I know mine lost hairs for over a year, still loses a few here and there. But not much compared to total population of badgerville.
