Thanked: 94I dont have a badger Omega, was looking to get one this summer in antler. I have a 48, its a good brush. Not as good as a Semogue 1305, but it will make your soaps cry uncle.

It's a good basic brush.

Thanked: 11I'm happy with mine. Smells like a wet dog when you first use it though. Soak it in hot water for 5 or 10 minutes and then shampoo it before use. Pet shampoo is best if you have it.

I own and use both the boar and badger Omega brushes.
As thebigspendur says, they are a good quality brush that won't break your bank.
I prefer the Omega two-band boar in their boar brushes. I only have one Omega badger w/ a gold handle. In fact, it was the first Omega brush that I purchased.
My only objection to the Omega brushes that I own is that the handles are hollow, not solid plastic. This makes them a bit light in my hand, but it doesn't impact their ability to create lather imho."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Thanked: 2I have an Omega pure badger brush which has a solid clear plastic handle, and it's my favorite for semi-soft soap/creams that come in tubs, like Proraso. It doesn't have a really strong backbone, so I don't use it with sticks. Good water retention and it's very good at whipping up a rich lather directly on the face. It always holds plenty of lather for the third pass.
I agree that it had a bit of a musty odor when I first used it, but I just whipped up a few extra bowls of lather and let it sit for longer than usual at first. No special cleaning tricks, and it broke in very nicely. I would recommend it as a good all-around badger brush.
