Thanked: 108travel tube for brush?
Does anyone know of a place to buy a travel tube for a brush, not including the brush?
Firestart has a great idea of using a medicine container, but it's too small for my colonel conk. I like the idea of something makeshift. A toilet roll's good but there's no way to snap it shut.
Ideal would be something like a film canister, only a bit bigger. Ideas?

Thanked: 2Where are you? I buy the super glue (hot stuff in the 2oz bottle) from Lee Valley and glue bottle comes in a prescription type bottle, but it's almost 4" tall and 1.5" wide. I'm sure I can find and empty and a lid in my shop I can send you. Or perhaps someone a little closer might be able to help. Or you might need some super glue.
I might also be able to get industrial tool packaging, which is like a male/female pieces that click together, so they can be adjusted in length just by pushing them in a few clicks. They would need to be cleaned as they may have residue and they would have rather boring industy type labels detailing tool types and sizes, but they would work.
Let me know.

Thanked: 108Thanks for the offer shavethebadger.
I found a cat treat container that works.
But I like the idea of caps on both ends...

I've heard of guys using toilet paper dispensers, but the more popular idea is to visit the local pharmacy with your brush in hand, and get a RX bottle that it fits in...and drill holes in the lid.

Thanked: 108That's pretty good. I like mparker's idea of pvc pipe capped at both ends, though, because then – whether putting the brush in or taking it out – you're always leading with the handle, and not trying to push a knot of badger hair into a tube tips-first.

Most non-turnback travel brushes come with a tube that only opens at one end.
I have one of these and, so long as you load the brush handle first, its not an issue at all.
The largest of the RX bottles will accomodate a variety of smaller brushes.
