Default ID older brush I found

I was trolling around a local antique shop the other day and I ran across a brush I liked so I picked it up. I am curious if anyone out there might be able to tell me about it (make, year, etc.) I think it is a badger brush, or at least a badger/bristle brush. I have a pure boar brush and it looks different (my boar is a yellowish straw color, but this one is more tan in color) and my boar feels a lot more stiff compared to this one.

The bottom of the handle reads "west Germany 3003"

I think it's a cool brush either way.

It does look like badger, is it usable? it looks pretty good for that old a brush, but the bristles may be stiff or brittle ( which doesn't show well in pictures.) Pretty cool, in any case. That West Germany label really reminds one of how much the world has changed.
