Simpsons Duke 2 Pure Badger Brush
Sometimes visiting the mailbox sucks cause it's full of bills and junk! But other times...
you get a pleasant surprise! From Lee's Razors, a Simpsons Duke 2
Pure Badger brush, accompanied by Col. Conk's Amber, Almond and Bay Rum soaps.
Here's a closeup of the brush:
This brush hits the water tomorrow! I'll give a full review once I've put it through
it's paces and post some pics along side other brushes for comparison. Hat's off to Lee for superfast service and delivery!

RT,
Looking forward to your report. I have been
looking at this brush as well. Can't decide
between Pure or Best.
I'm also looking at the small Rooney's as
well.
I'll own one of each before it's over......

I'd also really like to read your reason(s) for choosing the pure grade over the super. I've got some ideas, but would like to have the straight answer from you in your review.

Randy,
Thanks! I enjoy the variety as well, and suspected that you were simply opening up your choices in the stable. I can recall your posts of other brushes that you have -- impressive (I am afflicted with SBAD too).
I did a similar thing, but got a Simpson Chubby #1 in Super. I wanted to explore the supposed Simpson dense & firm/stiff bristles for a soap (in bowl) brush.
I look forward to the rest of your review later!

I bought one of these a while back, for me the shorter, firmer bristles are perfect for hard soaps and lathering on the face. IMO the size of the brush is ideal, and it performs great.
I also have a Vulfix 2234 in Super and it rarely gets used these days, it's so much bigger and floppier. I only tend to use it on rare occasions when I use a shaving cream and my moss scuttle.

Iwan,
I also have the Vulfix #2234. I actually bought it from Jeff (threeputt) here at the forum for my son....wound up keeping it and buying him a C&E Best Badger. While the Vulfix is more "floppy", it is a great brush that I enjoy. Normally, I prefer a larger handle, but so far, this Duke 2 has totally surprised me! Still a few more days before I post a review, but so far, I'm lovin' it!
