Email the vendor and quit tugging on the bristles. I would suspect you have a replacement coming to you.

Thanked: 2027Since you bought it used I think your only recourse may be to re-knot it

Bought it used ? In that case ..... don't pull on the bristles. I've seen brushes shed for awhile and then settle down. Use it and shake it out. You might get lucky and have it quit shedding. I've got one that shed for a year and quit. If I showed it to you .... you would never know it shed a hair. They have thousands and thousands of bristles. What may look like a lot may not even make a dent. Then again, it might ....

You can't stop shedding except by not pulling on it of course. Either it will stop shedding or continue until it's unusable. Since you bought it used you're only recourse is contact the seller and ask for your money back.
The problem is you have hairs coming out of the knot and there is no way to predict the extent of the problem. Maybe if you removed the knot and inspected it carefully it might tell you something and maybe knot.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

There is one thing you can do. You should only attempt it when you have decided nothing else will work and you are going to throw it away. You will need a tube of super glue. Not the thick stuff but the stuff that is liquid like water. Hold the brush by the handle and squirt the glue around the base of the bristles. That will cause the glue to go inside by capilary attraction and should go mostly all the way to the center. Let it set overnight to dry good before using. The only problem is the base of the bristles for about a quarter of an inch up will be rock hard. This is a last ditch effort but should work. I did it to a cheap badger brush and it fixed the problem but like I said it is not a perfect solution.

Well said senior moderator! I had/ have the same prob on a smaller scale but it exists nonetheless. Mine is brand new from vintage straight razor (.com) after being replaced by them twice prior for a faulty shipment or model. Now the third/last one they shipped me is leaving a few on my face after face lathering the fat. I'm just gonna let it ride a buy a Simpson sooner than later. Thx for helping us newbies..

Thanked: 2027How many times have you used the new brush?
some shedding is normal when you consider a 22mm knot has an estamated 10K hairs.
After maybe 20 use cycles this should subside but a hair or two will show up on occasion.
If you think buying a simpson is the cure, trust me,your wrong.Good luck.
