Default What is your favorite brush? Why?

Let try to get good pics. Name of it and reason why it it is your favorite? It could be: last forever, High Quality, Looks, Dream brush, whatever! Then do you bowl with it or palm with it.

I found a guy that hand makes them they are beautiful! I a big USMC fan and love the Olive drab color this is a silver tip badger olive drab colored Buckeye Burl wood 24mm. I use mine with a bowl. Since he does them custom I plan to get him to put a little EGA on it if possible.

I have a couple of Somerset made Simpson Supers, Rooney Finest, Plisson HMW and a few Thater 2 bands. I love 'em all. Gotta go to work now so no time for pix.

As a noob brush idiot, can someone explain what differences I might expect to enjoy from a "better" brush than my low cost but seemingly effective pure badger brush?

    Thanks for the help.

I'll post a photo of it later and will say I think it's great and is the best brush I've ever used!!! LOL it's the only brush I've ever tried.

I've never really gotten into brushes. I don't know why - perhaps because the area of making lather and applying it is the least interesting part of shaving for me. Many people love them, but I just see them as a tool. I have 3 atm - all badger in varying degrees of silvertipery. I used to have a boar one but it fell apart. I suppose if I had to choose which one I favoured the most it would be the one I am using at the moment - Truefitt and Hill something-badger (pure, best, super, whatever).

I only have one (an Omega Badger) used with an old coffee cup (I don't have any cool scuttles or froo-froo shave bowls )

I've only tried three different badgers, but have been able to tell quite a difference. One was a Sabi best or pure...not sure..it was an add on with an ebay purchase. They S. to the UCK. Another was a Parker best or pure that came with a safety and stand and it's actually been a nice compliment filler between the horse and silvertip. I like it's water retention abililty along with the stiff/softness ratio. My silvertip is my favorite and stands out much softer than the rest. There's no name brand here, but a nice, weighty, beautiful, hand-turned cocobolo handled, well-balanced tool made expressly for creams, in my opinion.

So, in order of stiffness: boar, horse, best badger, silvertip
in order of favorite: boar, best badger, horse, silvertip

    TMI?
