OK... Adding entry #2 anyway: The baby's bottle brush, now I know it's a brush so it's cheating, but hey, it lathered.
The lather actually came quite readily:
Now the only real problem is that the lather went EVERYWHERE!!!!
Now after a thorough application I ended up with a very uneven but full facial lather:
