Wilkinson sword brush
Hi gents. Just wondering if anyone can help me out with this brush. Im on a bit of a tight budget at the moment (bad thing seeing this hobby is turning out to be an expensive one) and im just starting out. I found this brush for £3.50 in my local supermarket so i just bought it. Since getting it home ive looked online and some say that because it says Finest bristle that it will be made from boar where as others say its nylon. Can anyone else shine a light on this? Obviously once i have some more cash ill buy a much better one but this is all i can pick up right now.
Here is a pic

Get it wet, one whiff will tell you if it's boar bristle or nylon.
Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

Re: Wilkinson sword brush
Just gave it a quick rinse under the sink... It does have a wet dog ish type smell and it doesnt feel synthetic. The bristles clump together when wet too just like hair. It sounds like boar... And for £3.50 i cant compalin... Here goes my first ever shave with a straight... Wish me luck

The smell will eventually go away the more you use it.
When I bought my first boar brush someone suggested I soak it in mouth wash . . . I did, but used Scope, it turned my bristles BLUE, and really did nothing to get rid of the smell, just smelled like a wet dog with aftershave on him. Kind of like using air fresher in the toilet; smells like someone left a pile in the forest.
After about the 5th or 6th shave it was gone. I think you will like it, mine is my go to brush with soaps, it's a real lather machine!!Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!
