Personally, I've never had a problem with stickers coming off. I know nail polish has been recommended by several people but I have read somewhere(can't remember where, sorry) that that can cause the lettering on the sticker to smear.

I have applied a thin coat of CyanoAcrylate on all of mine.

+1 on clear nail polish. FWIW . the old Somerset made Simpsons would lose the labels pretty much immediately if you used them without the coating. I'm not sure that the Vulfix made Simpsons are the same as far as the labels are concerned. Ounce of prevention is good though.

My understanding was the old Simpson text was done with lampblack and it was actually designed to wear off over time. I've used the nail polish trick. it also works good with the Plisson labels too.

Thanked: 74jgrunst,
I wouldn't dwell on losing the sticker or on other such things. Nothing lasts forever.
With regard to posts you may have read, Simpson used to use water slide decals on their brushes during the Family and Carter eras of the company prior to 2008, the year that Vulfix acquired Simpson. As you might imagine, the decals often times came loose from the brushes when exposed to water. Vulfix now uses stickers with a sufficiently strong adhesive for the attractive Simpson decal branding. I would wager that the ink on your sticker will fade before the sticker actually falls off. Some of the early Vulfix brushes, the Duke 2 comes to mind, had problems with sticker placement, resulting in stickers falling off. That particular issue seems to have been corrected since then.
During the Family and Carter eras of the company, Simpson used to have a lamp black logo underneath the water slide decal to ensure that Simpson branding would still be located on the brush for a time after the logo fell off. Also, the Family era and Carter era brushes had the brush names, along with the badger grade, lamp-blacked on the brushes. Vulfix laser etches and subsequently paints the brush names and badger grades on the brushes. Lamp blacking is now prohibited due to health concerns. While the lamp black branding is really cool and old school, it is much more fragile than the current branding on the brushes. You can always refill in the etched branding with fresh paint on the new brushes.
Again with the stickers, I say don't sweat it. I have read that Mark Watterson includes a couple of extra stickers and a tub of the new Simpson shaving cream with the Manchurian brushes. If those are not able to tide you over, you can purchase extra stickers from the Simpson website. Mark might even send you one for free if you send him a nice email.
Please don't use nail polish - that seems just way too tacky.
Let us know how you like your brush. The one pictured on the website is stunning.Last edited by altshaver; 10-14-2012 at 09:56 AM. Reason: typo
