Thanked: 0chubby 2 vs chubby 1
Primarily bowl lather but learning to face lather.
Also lather with both shaving soaps (TF&H soap for now) and other creams like Penhaligon's Opus 1870.
I have a chubby 3 Butterscotch in Manchurian on order but want another one for rotation.
Don't know how to decide between the ch1 and ch2.
Or should I get a second chubby in super 3?
it has to be a chubby. the retail store I have to get it from only has chubbys.
Could you guys elaborate on the functionality, cons and limitations of Ch1 and ch2.
Thanks

My personal choice would be for the Chubby 1 in super Badger, I've owned the Chubby 2 but I found It a little to large for my liking, but this is not to say that you won't like the brush, the Chubby 1 is a great soap brush and works just as well with creams, both for face lathering and bowl lathering.

I would wait until the Manchurian arrives and have something to compare to. I tend to like a shorter loft ....48 to 50 but it is a YMMV situation. Once you have the 3 in hand you'll have a better idea of how much smaller you may want to go, if you want to go smaller at all.

I have a chubby three but its an older two bander and from what I've seen the newer ones are much larger. Just assuming that I would probably go with the 2 if I was in your shoes but then again I'm not into the really big brushes. The chubby brushes are really dense and produce prodigious amounts of lather.

I'm a pretty dedicated face latherer and always have been. To tell you the truth I've always felt a quality brush can do it all. I don't believe in a special brush for this or another for that. I have several brushes of differing sizes and types and they all work well no matter for cream or soap or if I decide to use my scuttle.
I know many feel differently but that's how I see it. It's probably more important to match the brush with the soap bowl so you have proper room to maneuver in there. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
