Default I have a moral brush dilemma

I recently lost my travel brush that I have been using for a about 2 years. I decided that rather than buy another travel brush, I would start travelling with my kent bk8 brush, which currently is the only one I have. I decided to use that brush because even though I travel most of the time, I dont want to have to give up using a nice brush while shaving on the road. I keep it in the original container it came in which seems to protect it pretty well. My plan is to get another nice brush and use the kent as my perminent travel brush. Do you think I am going to kill a good brush, or should I be fine?

I travel with good razors, great creams, and without a good brush it just isnt the same. If I were to buy a good travel size brush it would be taking away funds from the 30mm brush that I want to get soon, so this just made sense.

    Opinions?

Do what makes you happy man! If I were on the road as much as you, I'd want those little luxuries.

I agree with your thinking on this Josh. I'm somewhat in the same position. I have a small travel brush from AOS. It does ok, but not great. As I was planning what razors and creams/soaps to take on the road with me next week, I was really not looking forward to using this brush. So I'm also going to convert one of my "home" brushes into a traveler.

As long as you protect the brush, it should be fine. I think Em's place carries protective tubes or you can make one if your Kent container doesn't cut it. I'm going to check my local drugstore or target and see what I can come up with before I order from Em's.

I think its a no brainer.

Hmmm, maybe this is another reason to order something new from Matt?

The brush I lost was the AOS brush that came in a beginners kit I got when I first started shaving with a DE. I bet it was the same one you have...I wasnt crazy about it either. I want one from Matt, but I was recently offered a deal I cant pass up on a 30mm shavemac when I get the money. Matt will be my next brush after that though.

    JL,

Use the Kent as a travel brush. No use in buying
a travel brush, then a mega brush and allowing
    the Kent to collect dust.

Come up with something to prorect it and it
    should last for years.

    Just don't loose it......

    Josh,

Wait... Didn't you lose a strop when you were just starting out too? Something about having to use a belt after that?

I'm just gonna start following you around on your business trips, and look in the ol' "Lost & Found." I figure, eventually, I'll get to own a 12/8 Bill Ellis razor for myself.

lol ya, I did...but those are more easy to forget since they are hanging up on somewhere rather than sitting on a counter like a brush or razor. I hate to spoil your plan, but I only travel with razors that can be replaced, so usually I bring one of my 8/8 friodurs.

I just got an 18mm silvertip (with antler handle) in from Matt. It kicks more ass than a donkey.

You arent helping me conserve funds for brushes, which in turnmight prevernt me from buying more razors from you lol
