    Default Another Scuttle Alternative

My friend Marco Belloni from Italy gave me the stainless dish shown below. This is a great tool not only for whipping up a super lather, but when you fill a mug up with steaming water and place the dish on it, it keeps the lather warm for the entire shave. Very cool. I need to find out where Marco got this thing.

This could be used for powders for lab/pharmaceutical use. In any case, that's another great idea. Thanks for sharing Lynn.

Way cool, Lynn. It won't fry a brush, either...

That looks great Lynn. I'm sure it works excellent for heating creams or for heating up some lather you've whipped up in a cup with soap and transferred over. I think a downside to making lather in it directly with soap is that wet, slippery soap might slide all around in it, maybe even out of it.

I do exactly the same with a stainless steel cat food bowl which cost me about a dollar. Steeper sides on the cat bowl which means less lather flying round the bathroom, as I do get a bit enthusiastic when lathering!

For anyone that's interested, you can find similar style dishes as Lynn's on ebay. They are listed as 'silver wine tasting' cups. They are about 3" in diameter at the top, and 1.25" deep. They are probably only silverplate, and come with a small handle and something like a brush rest. They go for ~$15 with shipping.
