    I thought hot water couldn't be too good, and I recently read about shaving with cold water, gave it a try, and my skin likes it. So maybe the brush thanks me too. But if the glue is damaged it's too late for sure.

    If it's a really old brush, that was before modern glues which stand up much better. So, it's possible the old glue is deteriorating.
