Thanked: 2New Brush, Hair Coming Out
I purchased a new Simpson Beaufort 4 Pure Badger brush from SRD and after about 12 uses I am noticed that on the outer part of the bundle of hairs some are sticking out like frazzled hair. I also noticed some hairs my my shave soap.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong that is causing the brush to fray?
Thank you

Shave brush hair knots usually bloom/spread out after a few uses and they do shed some hairs when new. Just how many hairs and for how long is normal I'll leave that for somebody with more experience to say. I have only had one brush that has not shed any hair since new and one that continues to shed hair after several months use, the rest shed a few initially and then stopped.

yes that is common with the edge hairs.
As long as the loss is minimal and stops after few shaves it's no problem.
Speaking about hair you guys are lucky, I have wavy hair. It's so wavy it waved good bye years ago.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I have the same brush and it happens to me also. One is stubbornly stuck in my Tabac. It's like an old friend winking at me whenever I go to load up on it. I think I'll miss him when he's gone.
