I learned that length is important (isn't it always? Lol) when you use a scuttle, as is the size of the handle. I also learned I like badger over horsehair.

I know now that my ideal brush is really two brushes, one short one for building up a lather in my hand or directly on my face, and one long brush to clear the sides of my scuttle and make a nice lather.

I also learned that in both cases I like badger the best because its soft and feels good on my face.

badger rules man,any brush will make lather.But in the end, cheap may not be better.

Agreed. Badger is the winner. Next brush will be a long badger with a handle big enough to fit my hand.
