    Default My First Brush

    Hi Guys:
Here is my very first brush.
The handle is Cherry finished with CA.
The Brush is a pure badger I got from Lee Valley tools.
I dont have a lathe so I "turned it out on my drill press and shaped with files of various sizes and shapes.
To be a prize for tonight's Stag & Doe party for my daughter and future son in law.
    Thanks for looking.

    Really nice work!

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

    That looks great!

How did you get it in your drill press?

I predrilled the hole for the knot with a forstner bit, then drilled a pilot for a fat screw which I then chucked up in the drill press.
You can see the bottom "decoration" where I plugged the hole with a faux pearl
Not that I originally drilled too deep but that I decided it was too tall afterward
    Thanks
    Mike

Most Impressive for improvised tools. FWIW, the bearings in a press aren't made for withstanding lateral pressure - only vertical. 'Don't want you to toast your press 'cause you didn't know.

    Hey
I appreciate it, hadn't even considered it.
