i just got a primo condition albright rubberset shaving brush , i mean immaculate. i soaked it in some warm water and conditioner to soften the bristles cause i didnt want the old bristles to break if they were too dry. i got to cooking and accidentally forgot about it. i split the whole top in half and all other stinkin directions. i am so sad
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

If just soaking in some warm water and conditioner did that it was a hairs breath away from failing anyway. You just found out sooner.

Yeah. We all do that sort of thing, whether we admit it or not! That old plastic/celluloid can be fragile! See if you can pick off the black part and start looking for something to replace it with! A "barrel" of some sort you can epoxy onto the handle and glue the knot into. I have one which is broken the same way, and that is my plan.

I rest my case.

Build a temporary frame around it, fill it with epoxy, stick some interesting little objects in the epoxy, sand & polish it to shape.

Thanked: 3I am now determined to fix it. I may be the odd man out but I like the scratchy old brushes and this one was a good knot. @ hirlau and pixelfixed, I am out of the funk and this is my charge ha! Maybe the black stuff will help!

Thanked: 375I wonder if 2-P10 would fill those cracks and hold thing's together? And a little stratgic sanding after it dries with high grit wet/dry sand paper.....
