Thanked: 203Excellent Pierre,
how did you do it? It makes my brushes without a lathe seem gruesome by comparison.

That works great and is the same way I make mine. I have a threaded rod that I tightly screw into the end of my blank. I then chuck the other end into my drill press. Having a variable speed drill press helps.
Awesome looking brush by the way, how do you cast your resin? Vacum or just let it sit in a mold?

Lay the wood (burl trimmings) flat in a tray, brush the surface with resin, paying close attention to the tiny nooks and crannies, then a slow pour from one corner with the tray tilted say at 30 degrees. Pour from the bottom, allowing the resin to flow slowly, minimizing air pockets, as the tray fills, slowly lower it. I don't have a vacuum set up yet, and am not sure if I will get one. I will likely source the blanks for the amount of brushes I will make. Unless things change.
My friends call me Bear.
