    Default First brush build

My knot just came in the mail, very excited to make my first brush. I decided to go with one of Whipped Dog's resin handles to take some of the guess work out of the first brush I make. They're nice handles. Larry drilled the handle a little too deep but no big deal. Can I just use a couple pennies as spacers until I've got the right loft? I'm looking to set it about 48-50mm.

Well...here it is! had to use five pennies...squirted some of the epoxy into the handle, mixed it up, popped the pennies in and pushed them down, put a bit more epoxy on the pennies, mixed it up more with a q tip and then applied some epoxy that was on the q tip to the plug. Set the knot in, making sure it was in there all the way with a good twist.
The package on the epoxy says it sets in 4-6 minutes, full setting strength attained after 16 hours....can I use my new brush in like 5 or 6 hours?

Lovely!! If I were you I'd leave it overnight, but that's just me. I use a slow setting epoxy. Never used the quick setting stuff.

That's what I ended up doing and used a different brush for my shave. I did however wet the brush a bit 6-7 hours later...just a little rinse and squeeze of the tips.

For my next one I think I want to try the finest from TGN. If you guys know of any other TGN knots worth trying at some point out let me know...

Your going to like both those knots. Have fun doing the next one. They're a lot of fun to put together.
