Thanked: 375Desert Ironwood
Made this for someone, from some Desert Ironwood they sent to me. It was a small piece 1.312" x 1.312" to square it up, but I figured I could get at least an 1" diameter out of it at and fit a 23mm Finest badger knot. They wanted a ball and bobbin style so not quite a ball on top like I would have liked to have but with a knot this size, this is about as close as I could get. Sorry for the cell pic's, one of these days I'll get a real camera and build a light box....

Thanked: 2027That looks very nice, great work., sometimes the wood dictates what the wood wants to be,sometimes you have no control over the material.
A very nice looking handle.

Great looking brush Trimmy72
I agree with pixelfixed,
Our soap and cream dictate how much water, our blades dictate how to hone them, and natural materials often do the same.
Knowing what you can get out of these and not pushing it beyond shows control and experience.
Congratulations on a fine job with a beautiful piece of wood.It is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

Thanked: 375I finished it with 2P-10 a thin CA, the ironwood and this CA were a good match. I tested it out first on a smaller piece I turned for a DE handle.
