No talk of money and services for profit allowed on the open forum. You can ask for advice no problem though.

I'm looking at my first brush restore as well. Got a tip to vise the knot and twist - sounds simple and effective. Also a better option to try first than drilling. I saw a tutorial on drilling out the knot, but with porcelain, you want to tread lightly.
Anyhow, just take your time and read up if you get stuck. There is so much good info in these forums, you'll find what you need if you are patient. Good luck with yours.

Thanked: 2027It can be done, finding a new knot may be an issue.Do not use a vice or a drill with a ceramic handle.

So this one is the twin brother of the one i just got from ebay! They are twins except the one i got is blue and the hairs are all destroyed! I saw a guy in you tube doing a steaming method and it seems effective! I might try the same! I am afraid of the vise or drilling method

Thanked: 1184No vise as in, no pinching the knot till it breaks loose ? Then what, soaking it in something till the glue is soft enough to yank it? Like acetone or lacquer thinner ? Would have to keep that off the paint though.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
