I've been looking for this in a decent size for scales. I found a piece of red malle burl that I sanded flat on my belt sander (no planer or jointer ), Would you happen to know of a source w/ 3/16" or 1/8" thick stock that doesn't need a ton of milling? Any help would be appreciated guys. That block is just gorgeous by the way.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Red Coolabah, thuya, red mallee are interesting burls, they all come from the same tree, eucilyptus, the differance is very subtle.
