    Default Vintage Brushes

I have bought some Vintage barber lots, I have amassed about 12 brushes. My question is what brands of brushes that are collectible? A list or any info would be very helpful.

I'm going to guess the vast majority are a mix of Every Ready and Rubbersets, these are pretty common makers of brushes. Maybe if you had a vintage version of a higher end brush that is still produced today (like Simpsons, Kent, Semogue, Vulfix, or Vie-Long) they would be considered more collectible. But I think the most important thing to collectibility is the condition and original packaging all being unused.

Do you have pics of these?

Thanks, I know I have at least 1 ever ready. Should I put a new knot in it? That's what I thought about doing.

I'm probably very bias on this subject, because I love buying vintage and dressing it up. All of my brushes have had the old bristles removed (whether they were usable or not), and a new badger or boar knot glued in.

As mentioned before, Ever-Ready's were VERY common brushes along with a couple other makers. If you're worried about messing with the collectible value of the handle, I'm just going to say that it probably shouldn't be a huge concern.

To tell you the truth I don't think vintage brushes have much of a value collection wise as an investment. Maybe if you have the old genuine 2 banders or some brush with historical value meaning it belonged to someone of note. Otherwise I've never seen big prices for old brushes.

I wasn't concern of value. I was more concerned with putting new knots in brushes that was sought after in those days. I will post some pics.
