Thanked: 2027Trim a pce off the end,maybe 1/4 in.If it checks in a couple days you will know.
What I do with waxed turning stock is scrape most of the wax off or use a heat gun and melt it off,put it in the attic and let it set for a year or two.
You may get some good pces out of the blank,you may end up with a pce that is cracked in half Buying pricey exotic woods can be a crap shoot.
Making something out of said wood and having it split a few mos.down the road is a heart breakerCAUTION

I bought a small block of black/white ebony to make scales several years ago. I guess I should get the wax off of it so I can use it someday. It has 6 inches + beyond that knot.JERRY
