    Default The "SRP 45"

Thought I'd share this project with you-
This started out as a re-knot of an old travel brush set. Long story short, when trying to remove the old knot, the brush slipped and caught my cutter.

Instead of trying to salvage it I thought why not try to turn a new one so I can get some time on my lathe. I had a bar of brass stock and just started turning and seeing what it came up with

I thought it sorta started looking like a pistol round, and just finished it off that way. Turned down a piece of stainless for the primer and set that in with my press. Could have made a tighter fit, but the epoxy will keep it in there. Stamped the bottom and ready to glue!

Thanks Bill. Would love to see you make one.
Irony is that I don't have any .45 ACP at the moment, so I had to throw some .40 S&W in there

Awesome! Brass/copper and dark wood always look good together.

Nice! I wish I had the skills and equipment... But that's unlikely.

    Cheers.

Believe me I don't have that much skill. Took me a long time
But I keep learning and it's a lot of fun. Thanks.
