    Default His and Hers

    His and Hers Trio

I finished these three this week.

Two for Him, and one for Her - or maybe not.

The makeup brush has a buffalo horn base, which shows a little figure.

It has a natural hair knot, and a nickel silver collar.

The one on the right has a 28mm Finest, set at 55mm, and a walnut base.

The left hand one has a 24mm Silvertip Bulb, set at 55mm, and has a base of nicely figured Circassian Walnut.

I also got this one completed.

Antler handle, Ramshorn base, 24mm Silvertip, set at 50mm.

And a last one for now.

Polished antler, again a base of the wonderful walnut, and a 24mm Silvertip, set at 50mm.

    Neat stuff!
These brushes remind me of antler-handled hunting knives.

What type of fur was used for the makeup brush?

I think that the hair in the makeup brush is Goat.

    Very, very soft.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Beautiful work! I especially liked the inlays on the bases. Do you perhaps use those as a cartouche?

The "inlays" are mosaic pins. I always use some sort of pin in the bases to add strength. The pin extends through the base and into the antler. Sometimes a blind pin is used, if the base is thick enough.

I like the mosaics for a little added interest.
