    Default A Little Different

This one is an experiment with a different, natural, handle material.

I do not have one of my own brushes in rotation. Consequently, this, and the experimental factor, means that I am keeping this one for myself.

There were a lot of cavities in this. After stabilising it, I have filled the largest of them, mostly in the base, but, as can be seen, I have left the natural texture, pretty much, well alone.

The knot is a 28mm Finest, set at 50mm.

I may have to treat myself to a new puck of MWF when I start using this one.

I realise it may not be to everyone's taste, but it was something that i had set my mind on to try.

The textured surface is bound to get soaped-up, but it will tolerate being scrubbed with a nail brush when needed.

Maybe I should have asked that question before I gave him a "Like" .

Might be from a two legged critter,,,

    Gnarly sums it up, nicely

    The critter was a cow.

It is the bone from the inside of a Highland cowhorn.

Photobucket is down at the moment. When it's back up. I'll dig out a picture of the "raw" material.

I'm sure your work is superb, but it most certainly reminds me of a venereal disease.

    I wouldn't know.

This was always going to end up a love/hate kind of project. With 20-20 hindsight, sealing and smoothing the surface with superglue, may well be a future option.
