Thanked: 2027The Key IMO is the glued faces need to be machined within .0005,dead nutz sq. My Crosslide on a metal lathe allows that.
I think it would be near impossible to do on wood lathe with a gouge.
My lathe is also my clamping device,nothing is removed until all is glued up and doweled in place,than all is turned in place until I have perfect solid round,than it is cutoff and moved to the wood lathe.

Lignum has been faced off,next I will glue up the Ivory and Ebony.
