I had built a small wood kiln out of cinder blocks just stacked on each other with no mortar and a couple 60W light bulbs, worked pretty well for the small amount of wood I was working with.

When I lived in the bay area,I had access to a real commercial Kiln (company called Globalwoods)am looking into building a solar kiln.

What interesting to me is that Jarrah,Mallee,Koolabah all come from Eucalyptus trees,all from australia.

I found this when I Google'd Jarrah, Mallee and Koolabah AustralianBurls.com - Burl Harvesting

This is piece of Crepe myrtle I scavenged from a tree crew the other day,some nice grain,hard, dense. maybe it will turn out to be some good wood.
