Default first attempt at brush making

So the wood is Apple that I took from a tree at my parents farm. (Piece of original branch the picture attached) Just a dead branch so no trees were killed in making this.
The badger knot is from lee valley.
The finish is butcher block oil.
There is just a little bit of spalting in this piece.
    Overall quite happy!Name: 2014-08-25 11.14.21.jpg

Hey thanks for the replies guys.
I turned a piece of wood once about 15 years ago. So I pretty well have no experience with it. Borrowed the in-laws shop for a day. But I sort of knew what I wanted to do so I just took my time.

Nothing wrong with a little spalting!
