Second is finished by scotch brite for matt efect.
It's fact. This type of surface helps to make a lather, but actually I use my new lowely shaving scuttle.

Ohhh! How pretty! I wish I could try a newer synthetic (that one in particular!:D). Tried a few about 5 yrs ago and they would not retain anything. I understand they are better now?
