    Do not like working with this stuff is very hard on cutting tools.

    Wow! You need a pic with better lighting I can barely make out it's awesomeness....
    I tried to turn G10 last year, ate my tools. I figured they were machining it at work maybe I could turn it. I was way wrong, Guess I need to get a metal lathe....

    I turned it on my wood lathe with carbide tools,still nasty stuff.

    Nice work Bill. They specifically prohibit working with G10 on some machines at work since it just kills the blades.

    Those synthetics are murder on the tools. You have to stop every couple passes to sharpen them again. They eat up saw blades as well. Diamondwood is just about as bad but they make some very nice knife and gun scales. Try recon-stone. That is even worse. You need carbide tools or a metal lathe for that stuff.

    So True,this stuff will take out a $35 bandsaw blade in a heartbeat,one I did awhile back,no more Micarta for me.

    Recon stone can be turned with HSS tools. You just need them freshly sharpened and cut slow. Once round I like to keep the speed low, and same for sanding. Here's two I did.
